Welcome to Soroptimist International of Alhambra

Welcome all to SI Alhambra, San Gabriel, San Marino’s 2013-2014 club year.  It is the year we celebrate our 80th anniversary, and I am really looking forward to looking backward over all these years.

Happy spring to everyone,
It is such a beautiful time of the year, and we at our club have been very busy enjoying it, as well as accomplishing many tasks.
In my last message I mentioned two of them...the awards luncheon and the fashion show.  They both were very successfully put on by our capable chairpersons and the rest of the members.  The awards lunch honored women and girls who have taken care of their families, as well as others in the community. It was held March 14 and overseen by Adele Andrade-Stadler.  Thanks again for a fantastic job.  The fashion show took place April 6 and was, as usual, a fun affair.  It took the whole "village" of our club to put it on, and I want to especially thank Jackie Coulette, Cynthia Jarvis, and Karen Chao, for putting in extra time and love.
Now for things to look forward to:  April 25 some of us will be heading to Santa Clarita for our Camino Real Region Spring Conference, where we will be installing a new Board of Directors and taking care of region business.  After the Conference we will be hosting a visitor from Sweden for a few days.  This is a great way to share ideas and stories with someone from a club so far away.  Next month we will be electing a new slate of club officers for the 2014-2015 year, as well as giving out our yearly service awards to local deserving organizations.  Finally our last club month of June we will look forward to a festive installation of our new Board.
To everyone reading this, have a wonderful spring and beginning of summer.  Enjoy family and friends and hobbies and doing good.
